Fatigue On A Diet - Why You Feel Fatigue When Dieting
Started off great on your diet but running into issues with fatigue? This is actually quite common among those who are trying to get really lean. While some fatigue should be expected due to the fact that you are eating a hypocaloric diet (which is essential to see weight loss), when it becomes so unbearable that you can hardly make it through the day, measures need to be taken to remedy the situation.

Overdoing It On The Exercise
Probably the biggest reason why dieter’s experience fatigue while on their diet is due to trying to keep up with the workout they were formerly performing. Keep in mind that the body needs energy to recover and when you are not eating a higher calorie diet, you simply are not supplying it with the energy necessary to complete this recovery process.

If you aren’t recovering between sessions, you can be absolutely sure that this is going to cause fatigue.
Taking the steps to reduce back on your workout volume will be a smart move if you are to carry out quite a strict diet.
Remember that in order to keep your fitness up, it’s best to focus on intensity of exercise, rather than volume. So, if you used to do 5 sets of 8 reps at 30 pounds, rather than moving this to 5 sets of 8 reps with 20 pounds, reduce it down to 3 sets of 8 reps at 30 pounds.
Dehydration
Not staying well hydrated can also really have an impact on energy levels as well. Low-carb diets additionally tend to have a dehydrating effect, so if you’re using this dietary approach, chances are this is also coming into play.
Make sure to stay well hydrated with water (preferably) or decaf coffee, teas, and diet soda’s. Just be sure to pay attention to what you’re placing in your coffee and tea because again, if you aren’t careful this can add up quickly.
Improper Sodium/Potassium Balance
Finally, the third issue that can cause fatigue among dieter’s is when the electrolytes move out of balance. The body closely regulates sodium and potassium, but when these are not where they should be, problems start to occur.
Low carb diets also tend to have issues with regards to this and are known for contributing to the problem.
Try and make extra effort to ensure you’re eating enough green vegetables (these are naturally low in carbs) to keep your potassium levels up. Nuts are also a great source of potassium and work well on low carb diets, so be sure to make use of these as well.
