			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As someone who has had to struggle with my weight management for all of my adult life, there have been many many occasions when I have asked myself whether or not I was having any success at all. There are so many conflicting pieces of advice, and articles published in all of the women&#8217;s magazines telling you the do&#8217;s and don&#8217;ts, of successful weight management, and weight loss techniques, that quite frankly I for one, often end up totally bamboozled by it all. </p>
<p>I think that everybody is different as far as dieting and weight control are concerned, and therefore there is no one size fits all approach to achieving your ideal weight, or for that matter your dream figure. That said however, I firmly believe that there are many small but significant routines that you can and should implement into your daily life, to at least give yourself a fighting chance of success.</p>
<p>Here are a couple of suggestions for you to mull over:-</p>
<p>Did you know that the average human body has between 25 to 30 billion fat cells. These serve as storehouses for the fat molecules which accumulate both from the food that we eat, and also from the body&#8217;s own fat making process. Typically these cells can congregate on the abdomen, on the hips, and on the thighs, as well as ending up as layers of fat beneath the skin.</p>
<p>So by eating a few large meals in a day, as most of us do, the existing fat cells can become overloaded so to speak. This in turn triggers a hormonal signal which the body interprets as a need for more fat to be stored, and this is how we gain weight. The other thing to remember is that when you eat a few large meals in a day, it can cause sharp fluctuations in your blood sugar levels. This is another important factor in the battle to lose weight. </p>
<p>When it gets that initial spike in blood sugar levels, the body releases a larger than normal amount of the hormone insulin, which is the specific hormone responsible for transferring blood sugar from the bloodstream into cells. It would be a good habit to try and discipline yourself to eating small but frequent meals throughout the day therefore, because not only does that stabilize your blood sugar levels, it also has a positive effect on your cognitive functions.</p>
<p>For successful fat loss, it is vitally important to break the habit of eating to much food in too few sittings. This really does take a lot of willpower, as you have probably been conditioned to having three square meals a day since the time that you were a child.</p>
<p>Once you start to train yourself to eat smaller meals and snacks at more frequent intervals, amongst other things, you will notice almost immediately a big improvement in your energy levels. This is the result of a more stable sugar level, and once you experience the improvement in your energy levels, you will wonder why you have did not do this before! </p>
<p>This small bur significant change in your lifestyle habits will work wonders with your weight management efforts.</p>
<p>As far as your cognitive functions which I mentioned above are concerned, there is also growing evidence that taking a small break throughout the day can enhance performance and productivity, and believe it or not, the simple act of just taking a break from your daily routine to eat, helps you build up what is known as vital memory.</p>
<p>A brief period of even just a few minutes away from the normal influx of information, will allow your brain to do some of the filing necessary to sharpen your memory.</p>
<p>It is a very good idea therefore to follow each meal or snack with a few minutes of easy activity, such as walking around your work area, or performing a few muscle tone ups. Medical research confirms that the alertness boosting and fat burning effect of these active minutes turns your body into a fat burning machine instead of a fat storing one.</p>
<p>As I said at the outset of this article, we are all different, and different things work for different people. However, everyone can adopt these habits to benefit their overall health and well being, and to make the goals of their weight management campaign, that much more achievable.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The concept of green tea being good as an aid to weight loss, has been known for some considerable time now. It will probably be the case therefore, that the information contained in this article is not new to many of the people who will read it.</p>
<p>However as an enthusiastic advocate of green tea, I thought that I would sing its praises again. As a good friend said to me recently, often you have to be reminded of things that you already know, or have heard of before, to actually start to do them again.</p>
<p>I personally love green tea, and all the different brands and varieties that are available. Not everbody does however, and I would be the first to admit that it is very much an acquired taste.  If you think about it, in a sense everything that we like as individuals falls in to this category.</p>
<p>Can you remember for instance the first time that you tasted coffee, or wine, or perhaps beer or lager, or whatever. I guess that most of us did not like the taste initially, but over time many of these products ended up as part of our everyday lives.</p>
<p>I put it to you that it is worth persisting with green tea. Do make it something that you take on a regular basis, because the health benefits that it gives, as well as it being a part of your weight loss program, are well worth it I assure you.</p>
<p>Green tea has always been known to possess several health benefits, but it really can contribute to an effective weight loss program as well. Many studies have shown that drinking green tea can increase metabolism and fat oxidation of the body. </p>
<p>Initially scientists believed that the weight loss benefits of green tea extracts was due to their caffeine content, but the results of other studies have shown that green tea extracts also have weight loss benefits beyond that of caffeine alone. They concluded that green tea extracts have ingredients in them that actively interact with each other, and they help to promote increased metabolism and fat oxidation which leads to weight loss.</p>
<p>The great thing about the weight loss benefits of green tea extracts, is that it does not have any adverse side-effects. Unlike other herbal products such as ephedra and prescription drugs for obesity, green tea extract does not increase the speed of heart rates or raise blood pressure. </p>

<span style="text-decoration: none">weight loss</span></a> plans have as a major suggestion. Water is an essential part of any diet but there is new evidence to show that we can extend this idea to include other liquids.</p>
<p>Water is an essential part of the body although we do not think about what we need from it. According to the Mayo Clinic, water lubricates the entire body, stops us from being constipated, keeps our kidneys functioning well and helps us get minerals and other nutrients to our cells.</p>
<p>Since water is important to the entire body it is a good idea to have plenty of it available to help the body function properly and prepare the internal environment to accept good food and nutrition. Water helps tremendously when you are working on the fastest way to lose weight.</p>
<p>Taking into consideration that your body actually loses water during the day, when you are active and when you go to the bathroom, you have to at least replenish the amount you have lost. This is why it is important to continue drinking water all day instead of only drinking when you are thirsty.</p>
<p>Although the general rule has always been to drink 8 glasses a day if you want to lose weight, the Institute of Medicine says we actually need more than this amount and that it is liquids of all types that is important instead of only water.  Their recommendation is that men need to consume 3 liters a day (which translates to 13 cups) and women need to consume 2.2 liters (roughly 9 cups).</p>
<p>This means that if you want to lose weight you will have to, at a minimum, meet these requirements. The basic rule is to drink enough fluids so you are rarely thirsty. This may seem a lot of work but it is invaluable in the long run, because it keeps your body functioning at a higher level than it does now, which will automatically make it lose weight.</p>
<p>Other places to find liquids</p>
<p>When you first look at the amount of water that is suggested you may be overwhelmed. However, remember that you get fluids from a variety of places. As an example, your regular meals will give you about 20% of your overall fluid intake. The other 80% will come from water, other beverages, fruits and vegetables, milk and some juices. You can also drink tea or drinks that are low in sugar (not diet drinks).</p>
<p>When you eat fruits, think about those that have a lot of juice like watermelons, tomatoes or grapes. Think vegetables like celery, cruciferous greens and cucumbers. These will help you get more fluid in your diet.</p>
<p>It will also be important to consider the fact that if you live in certain climates that are hot or cold, if you are working out or if you are ill, pregnant or breastfeeding, you will need to adjust your fluid intake accordingly.</p>
<p>We have talked about staying comfortably hydrated. The way to continue this is to keep water or other fluids with you at all times so that you can sip a little all the time. The Mayo Clinic suggests drinking with your meals, between meals and hydrating before, during and after exercise.</p>
<p>Knowing your body&#8217;s fluid needs and making sure it gets it will increase your ability to lose the weight you want more quickly.</p>

The blood glucose levels in your body are regulated by a hormone called insulin. Insulin is produced in the pancreas. There are two common types of diabetes. Type 1 occurs when there is a decrease in the production of insulin, and type 2 occurs when the body begins to resist the effects of insulin. </p>
<p>Type 2 diabetes is also known as gestational diabetes. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes result in hyperglycemia and one of the main signs of hyperglycemia is excessive urine production. The body produces excess urine in order to rid the body of the high glucose levels. Often there are other signs such as extreme thirst, blurred or poor vision, sudden uncontrolled weight loss, and a change in metabolism.</p>
<p>	There is no known cure for diabetes; however, both types are treatable through healthy <a href="http://www.howtoloseitfast.com">weight loss</a>. The treatment for type 1 diabetes is an insulin shot. This type of diabetes is caused primarily by genetic factors. Fortunately, there are some measures which can be taken early in order to prevent children from developing type 1 diabetes. There is scientific research which proves that breastfed children are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than from type 2 diabetes is kept under control through insulin pills, medication, and a proper diet. </p>

<p>Doctors have a way to measure exactly how much influence a particular carbohydrate food has on a person’s blood glucose level. This is called the glycemic index. Foods that are high on the glycemic index tend to cause an increase in a person’s blood glucose level. Those who consume lots of food ranked high on the index tend to have a higher level of body fat. The opposite is true of those who eat more food ranked lower on the glycemic index. The point is that with advice from a good doctor and close monitoring of glucose intake, it becomes easier for diabetes to be brought under control.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Did you ever notice that most women think they need to exercise differently than men?  And most men think they need to train differently than most women.  I&#8217;m going to explain below why I feel everyone would get much better results if they stopped thinking about mens vs womens workouts, and started thinking about how to actually get results.</p>
<p>One example of this exercise insanity that we see at every gym&#8230; Many women think they need to do 20, 30, or even 40 reps per set of most exercises with little 3-lb barbie dumbbells, because if they actually lifted heavier dumbbells, they falsely believe they will &#8220;bulk up&#8221;. That is the last thing they want in their <a href="http://www.howtoloseitfast.com">weight loss</a> quest.</p>
<p>Another example&#8230; Many guys think they need to do 1-rep max lifts regularly to build muscle. This is simply not true&#8230; overall training volume (reps x sets x weight lifted x intensity level) and a caloric surplus is what building muscle is all about&#8230; not necessarily 1-rep max lifting&#8230; although I am certainly not saying there isn&#8217;t a time and place for 1-rep maxing.</p>
<p>Now here&#8217;s one of my biggest frustrations over the years&#8230; Typically when I was training lots of women and I would show them the workout that I wanted to take them through&#8230; they would say something such as&#8230; &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to do those exercises. That looks like a man&#8217;s workout!&#8221;</p>
<p>And they would go back to their little tiny 3-lb dumbbells and boring monotonous cardio workouts and keep getting NO RESULTS at all for months or even years.</p>
<p>However, the females I trained that were open-minded enough to trust me that if they used heavier weights they would not &#8220;bulk up&#8221; (as long as their caloric intake was in the correct range), always got excellent results.</p>
<p>As a matter of fact, some of the leanest females I have trained over the years were the ones that actually trained with the heaviest weights. I had a few female athletes that could deadlift 175 lbs and they were VERY lean, and NOT overly-muscular. In fact, they had very feminine, but lean sexy bodies. </p>
<p>They lifted very HEAVY weights in relation to their body size and yet they NEVER bulked up.</p>
<p>Another example is that almost every female I ever trained thought they couldn&#8217;t use more than 5 or 8 lb dumbbells for an overhead dumbbell press or a dumbbell chest press.  However, when they were open-minded enough to actually try to train their body under heavier resistance (and thereby create a REAL stimulis for change), most women were almost always able to press 20 or 30-lb dumbbells instead of the 5 or 8 pounders they were used to using.</p>
<p>My point I&#8217;d like to make in this article is for us all to please stop with the insanity of thinking that we all need to train so radically different from the opposite sex, but rather realize that we are all HUMAN BEINGS.  I don&#8217;t care if you&#8217;re a man or a woman&#8230; the laws of exercise physiology will always show that variations of squats, lunges, deadlifts, presses, and rows are some of the best exercises for human beings, regardless of gender.</p>
<p>And this applies whether your goal is fat loss or muscle building!  </p>
<p>Yes, even if your goal is just fat loss and not muscle building, you still need to train your body under progressively heavier resistance (relative to your current strength) to stimulate your body to actually want to change over time. </p>
<p>*Note - when I say &#8220;train heavy&#8221;, I mean heavy resistance in relation to your individual strength level. For example, a heavy resistance in a particular exercise such as a deadlift or squat may be 300 lbs for one person, and only 70 lbs for another person.  All that matters is if the weight that you use is challenging for you.  </p>
<p>Now I will concede that I use slightly different styles of training  whether the goal is fat loss or muscle building (notice I said different styles, not different exercises), but the bigger factor is actually your caloric balance&#8230; </p>
<p>Creating a caloric deficit for fat loss or creating a caloric surplus for muscle gain, while still training intensely for either goal.</p>
<p>So I say let&#8217;s all stop training like men or training like women, and let&#8217;s all start training like human beings in order to get RESULTS!  See below for some of the most effective training routines known to man for fat loss and muscle building.</p>

<p>Tip #1: Set Goals</p>
<p>Setting goals is an important step for the achievement of success in any area of your life. If you want to lose weight sit down and write out your fitness goals. </p>
<p>Do you want to lose 5 pounds? Do you want to exercise more regularly? Do you want to eat a healthier diet?  Having written goals makes it 10 times more likely that you will achieve your goal.</p>
<p>Tip #2: Prioritize Your Time</p>
<p>Your time is your most valuable asset, and good time management skills can make the difference between reaching your weight loss goals and failing to reach your goals. Consider writing in exercise as an appointment in your calendar. In addition, plan out your shopping list and meals in advance.  Come up with ways to better use your time and commit the necessary time to improving your health.</p>
<p>Tip #3: Don&#8217;t Go For the Quick Fix</p>
<p>Patience is a virtue, but it is almost always lacking when it comes to weight loss programs. There are 2 main problems with seeking the quick fix. First, the tendency to want something for nothing leaves people disappointed and de-motivated. There is no way around putting in the work. Something for nothing does not exist!</p>
<p>The second problem with seeking the quick fix is that it often addressed the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. Go slow and steady because consistency is really important.</p>

<p>Healthy Eating and Exercising Regularly are like taking a bath. You only experience the benefits if you continually do it on a regular basis. So many people say that diets don&#8217;t work because when people go off the diet they gain weight back. But, the word diet actually means &#8220;way of life&#8221; not restriction. Everyone is always on a diet, it&#8217;s just that everyone&#8217;s way of life is different.</p>
<p>Habits rule our lives. &#8220;Bad habits are easy to form and hard to live with; whereas, good habits are hard to form, but easy to live with.&#8221;  Strive to develop healthy habits that you will embrace for the rest of your life.</p>

<p>Once you have goals, you must commit to your eating and exercise routine. Your level of commitment will determine your results. If you just kinda commit, then you&#8217;ll likely have low results. <p>Tip #6: Keep a Workout and Food Journal</p>
<p>Keeping track of your progress and activities is a great way to keep you moving in the direction of your goals.  We all think we exercise more than we actually do, and we all think we eat less than we actually eat. A workout journal and food journal will help to give you a less biased opinion about your activities. The better you can determine how your plan is going the easier it is to modify it to reach your goals.</p>
<p>Tip #7: Forget About Moderation Strive for Excellence</p>
<p>Everything in moderation except moderation. I understand the statement &#8220;Everything in Moderation&#8221;, but the problem is that everyone has a different definition of moderation. For some people drinking alcohol in moderation is 1 drink a week, and for others it&#8217;s 4 or 5 drinks 3-4 times a week.</p>
<p>If you want to be successful in anything you have to strive for excellence in that endeavor, and do your best all the time. If a habit is bad for your health, then you should likely always avoid it. Here&#8217;s an analogy. Would you ever tell a child, &#8220;lying and stealing is okay but only moderation&#8221;&#8211; of course not. So why do we talk ourselves into doing things that we know are not right by using well it&#8217;s okay if I do bad stuff only in moderation.</p>
<p>Now, I know that no one is perfect, and I don&#8217;t expect my clients to be perfect, but striving for excellence is all about truly doing your best to make the best decisions all the time. You and your body deserve the best.</p>
<p>How you think determines what you do. And what you do determines how you feel.  So set goals, prioritize your time, commit to long-term success, and strive for excellence.</p>
